Stryan Ngunis have since 2007 been breeding hardy Nguni's on Thorn Park in the Fish River Valley between Grahamstown and Bedford.

Veld Type

The veld conditions are tough and tick infested with rainfall varying between 250 and 350mm annually, coupled with a wide temperature range throughout the year, the adaptability of the cattle to almost any climate is smooth and especially so under the challenging heartwater grazing conditions they currently thrive on.

Breeding Herd

The herd is run as extensively and as naturally as possible with minimal management and interference, from a wide genetic base that is carefully selected for hardiness, productivity, fertility and temperament while retaining the adaptability and the low maintenance characteristics that are true to the breed.
